'MOONG DAL UTTAPAMS A simple recipe for the young toddlers at your house. It is very nutritious and tasty! Ingredients ⅓ cup split skinless green gram, soaked for 6 hours and drained ⅓ cup split skinless black gram, soaked for 6 hours and drained ½ inch ginger Salt to taste A small pinch asafoetida (hing) ¼ tsp turmeric powder Oil for drizzling Tomato ketchup to serve Method 1. Grind the split skinless green gram with ginger and 2 tbsps water to a slightly coarse paste. Transfer into a deep bowl. 2. Drain and grind the split skinless black gram with 3 tbsps water to a smooth paste. Transfer into the same bowl and mix well. 3. Add salt, asafoetida and turmeric powder and mix well. Cover and set aside to ferment for eight hours. 4. Heat a non-stick tawa. Spread a spoonful of batter, drizzle oil and cook on low flame till the underside is done. Flip and cook on other side as well. 5. Arrange the uttapams on a serving plate and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
